The first question that Cassie asked me this morning was "who won?" She was, of course, referring to the election. I told her that Obama won, which made her happy because he is who she picked at school. She then asked me a few more questions.
Cassie: Who was the president yesterday?
Me: (not wanting to go into the fact that Obama is the president-elect at this point and such) George Bush
Cassie: Like George Washington?
Me: Kinda, but not
Cassie: Who was before him?
Me: Bill Clinton
Cassie: Wow, you're smart.
I wish just knowing this little bit made me smart. I love how simple things make young children think that adults are 'awesome'. Then they get older and decide that adults know nothing and they know everything. Aren't children adorable??
