As I write this my two dear little girls are in their room playing quite nicely and listening to the Backyardigans on a radio/cd player that they got for Christmas. Let me just say that it is wonderful for them to be in their room for even just a few minutes without me having to be in there with them. I know that within a couple more minutes they will be in here and on my lap, but I actually got to wash some dishes before I came in here and that alone is a feat in itself.
Today Cassie went back to school after being off for Christmas vacation. When she got home she informed me that she loves school. lol I know that she was bored over her vacation...she likes having a more filled schedule and loves to learn. I'm glad that she is back in school, but I was getting tired of spelling words. She was constantly asking how to spell things...or spelling things and asking if they were right...or when we were in the car she would read every sign we passed. Let me say that she is very good at all of the above! I love that she is doing so good at spelling/reading. I love that she likes reading/spelling. I love that she is so hungry for knowledge. I just hate having to "play" spelling/reading ALL DAY for SEVERAL DAYS!
I do have to say though that some of the things that she can read almost frighten me. She is sooo smart. My mom spelt s-w-i-n-g to me the other day, trying to keep the kids from hearing it, and Cassie looked at us and said, you spelt swing. And my mom had spelt it on the fast side.
Kalli is going to follow in her sister's footsteps. Today she was pointing at letters and I would say what they were and she would repeat every one. Then, she would go back to them a little later and some of them she knew without me telling her. With how smart these two are...Andy and I are in trouble when they get older. Like...if you don't hear from us for a few days, please come check on us...call or come over...make sure we aren't tied up somewhere.
