Swimming Lessons

Cassie's first swimming lesson for this session went very well. We will be practicing this session though on weekends. I really would like Cassie to feel more comfortable in the water and maybe pass 'Waterbug'. She has no idea that there are levels in swimming and I want to keep it that way so she doesn't concentrate on levels and how many times she is in a level. I actually think that we are going to go to the Y this coming Sunday to practice. She thinks that she is going though to help mommy practice games to play with the classes I teach. Whatever she needs to think to get her more comfortable :)

I have decided that I LOVE teaching swimming lessons. The kids are so freakin' cute and say some of the cutest things. I also feel very good when I can help the kids. I also am VERY energized and full of energy when I get home after teaching. I think it is mainly because you have to be high energy and excited to keep the kids excited and interested in what you need them to do. Andy has even commented about how wound up I come home.

Here is an example of cute things said to me the last couple days...
1. one lil girl was very nervous to come into water...ok she was crying about not going in the water. I finally got her to come in saying I would not let go of her and we'd have lots of fun. She had a noodle under her arms and cube on her back. As we moved through the water, with me holding onto her as well, she exclaims "Look...I'm swimming!" I couldn't help but laugh to myself. I figured...hey, she is in the water and kicking. sounds like swimming to me :)
2. Today I was helping with making sure all kids attempted to go bathroom before going to class and one lil girl came up to me and said "I had you for class earlier this week." I smiled and said yes she had (though I couldn't remember her name) She said, "I want you to teach me again today." (AAaawwwwww!!!!!) I had to tell her that I was done for the day and that someone else would be teaching her, but that I would see her next week and teach her.

So, there will be no blog tomorrow...and possibly none Saturday. Stay tuned for Sunday's though :) lol
