Another disappointing day for kids at Cassie's school. There was no recess because of rain. It is always humorous to me though. Cassie gets home and I ask the same thing every day..."How was school." She gives me this pitifully disappointed face and says "We didn't have recess" Nothing about the fun she had playing with so and so...just no recess. It seems that her entire day at school is defined by recess and lunch. It is good to know that she is a normal school kid :)
Tomorrow there is a carnival at Cassie's school that we will be attending. There will be food, rides, games, prizes, etc. Cassie is soooo excited about it. She already knows what teachers will and won't be there and that she is going to do everything Wayne does. I've met Wayne and he is a nice kid, but why is she doing everything he does? (I'm hoping there is no bridge around to jump off) Before today I've never heard Cassie say anything about him at all. I asked if a couple other of the kids were going to be at the carnival and she said she didn't know. But hey....Wayne will be there.
Kalli had speech therapy today. The therapist is wonderful and works quite well with Kalli...trying to be involved with whatever Kalli is interested in at that moment. Unfortunatly, Kalli doesn't want to work with her. We've been having therapy once a week for about 5 weeks now, and still Kalli refuses to say much of anything to the therapist. Just recently Kalli is starting to interact more with the therapist. We're hoping this is a beginning to talking to her. Still if the therapist tries to hold something back until Kalli says a word, Kalli shows exactly how strong-willed she is and will move onto something else. Leaving the therapist, herself, pretty speechless.
This morning while laying in bed with Kalli, I kissed her and told her that I loved her. She rubbed my cheek saying "dee....dae....dee". I'm not sure what it meant, but she kissed me after and cuddled back in. God, I'm so in love with her. With them both. They are my world.
