I've always enjoyed Mother's Day, but since Cassie has been in school....I love it even more. The things school does for Mother's Day, the little presents that the kids make, the sweet things Cassie says...they make my heart melt into a little puddle. And luckily, she hasn't yet learned to take advantage of those moments by asking for things. I'm sure that time will come though.
Today Cassie came off the bus hiding something in a paper bag. When I asked what was in it Cassie said that I had to wait til Sunday to see. i asked where she was going to put the bag so that Buffy didn't get into it. This left her pondering and she decided to give me instead of worrying about the cat getting into it. Yeah for the cat...I get a gift early :)
It was a flower that she had planted at school. It is sooo pretty. And then also she brought home a card that she made and inside the card are partial sentences that she had to finish. Someone then wrote what she said to finish the sentence. Below are the sentences and what she said. I have comments for a few of them.My Mom is special because...she helps me.
I like it when my Mom...makes me something to eat. (figures....it is all about food to her)
My Mom can do many things! I think she's best at...bringing me to bed.
My Mom has a pretty smile! I like to make her smile by...giving her a hug. (I love her hugs!)
My Mom is pretty as a...princess. (Awwwww...)
My Mom is smart! She even knows...how to count by tens. (This fact amazed her when she was learning to count by tens.)
That girl makes me feel so good some days. It just about makes up for the days that she frustrates me on. I am definitely keeping this card to show her when she gets older. I think she will get a real kick out of it :)
